The Budding Leaders Empowerment Initiative (BUDLEIN), a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) that mentors young ones through capacity building, encouraging innovation and creativity, has organised Spelling Bee and Reading Competitions in conjunction with the ‘Nimbe Adedipe Library (NAL), to commemorate the World Book Day, themed ‘Read your Way.’

Speaking at the event held at the 1,000 Capacity Lecture Theatre on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde reiterated the significance of reading, encouraging the pupils and students to utilise library resources regularly.

Represented by the Dean, College of Plant Science and Crop Production (COLPLANT), Prof. Jonathan Atungwu, the Vice-Chancellor commended the BUDLEIN Team for its efforts in organising the event for the benefit of the community.

He, therefore, charged the participants to cultivate the habit of reading always, alluding to the maxim that says, readers are leaders.
